PELAGOS, in association with the World Festival of Underwater Picture of Antibes Juan-les-Pins, announces the International Sea Festival which represents a journey into the sea through numerous series of videos, photographs dedicated to the marine world.

The vast archive of audiovisual productions are intended to enhance public awareness around the sea and its health; among those numerous works emerge the outstanding documentary "The Cove", winner of the 2010 Academy Award for Best Documentary.

Throughout its history, the Festival was attended by more than 5000 competitors, film and video makers and photographers, who shared with the artistic directors of the Festival, Pippo Cappellano e Marina Cappabianca (CAPMARSTUDIOS) the same passion for the sea, for its depth and for the life it hosts.

Pippo Cappellano and Marina Cappabianca are authors of nature, science and historical documentaries, filmed all over the globe in extreme environments. Many of their works are devoted to the marine world, to its culture and history and deep water exploration. Broadcasted in Italy by RAI and Mediaset, Pippo’s and Marina’s films are distributed worldwide.

From 2010, Pippo and Marina are the Artistic Directors of the International Sea Festival Pelagos, a position they hold with great passion, aligned with their belief that documentaries contain an unmatched potential to give voice to unknown realities and raise awareness of the value of nature and the importance of its preservation.
